Prakash Raj Once Again Play To Villain Roll In Hindi

It’s official director Rohit Shetty had earlier announced that he will be doing the Hindi remake of Suriya’s Tamil super hit Singam. The latest is that Prakash Raj who played the bad man in the Tamil version will essay the same role in Hindi.

The Bollywood remake is being produced by Reliance Big Pictures. Prakash Raj confirmed: “Yes I’m doing the Hindi remake of Singam, with Ajay Devgan doing Suriya’s role and Rohit Shetty directing it. Do you know that my villain role in Wanted (Pokkiri remake in Hindi), is still being talked about? Last week I was on a flight from Hyderabad to Chennai and a kid came up to me and asked “Are you the devil in Wanted”?  Believe me it is the cutest thing I ever heard.”

Meanwhile a heroine hunt has started for the Hindi remake. Those in the running from south include Anushka, who wants to debut in Bollywood and Asin is also said to be in the running. Ajay Devgan will take a call closer to the shoot.

Director Radha Mohan is working on the bilingual Payanam (titled Gaganam in Telugu). The film has Prakash Raj and Nagarjuna playing the lead roles but according to the director they are not the heroes in this film.

Radha Mohan clarifies that all the actors are characters in this film and even Nagarjuna, who plays a commando in this hijack drama, does not show any heroism by bringing the hijackers to book without any assistance from others. So, is this a serious film? To this Radha Mohan replies that there is good amount of humor in Payanam but it would not appear as if it has been forced into the script.

Prakashraj tied Knot to Pony Verma in Mumbai

Prakashraj entered wedlock with his longtime friend and Bollywood choreographer Pony Varma at a private function in Mumbai today.

The wedding ceremony which was held as per Hindu tradition was attended by friends and relatives including directors Radha Mohan, K V Guhan, Viji and actor Kumaravelu.It may be recalled that Prakashraj who was married to actress Lalithakumari, had developed difference of opinion and was living separately. He also got divorce recently.

Prakashraj and Pony Varma are planning to host separate wedding receptions for Kollywood, Tollywood and Sandalwood, it is said.

For Prakash Raj, Saturday evening was mighty special. And, it was not just because he won the Best Actor award in the 57th Idea Filmfare Awards 2009 (South).

The occasion also served as a perfect platform for the versatile actor to introduce the ‘special person’ in his life to his friends in the film frat.“Friends, I’ve been a bachelor for quite some time now and I take this opportunity to introduce the special person in my life, Rashmi Pony Verma,” he said. With those words, he introduced his pretty lady love on to the stage. “Meghana, please come up too,” the actor said, urging his little one as she hesitantly flinched in her seat. It was heart-warming to note how the little one bonded with Pony, as she spent a good part of the ceremony cosily seated on her lap.

Once his two special women were on stage, the actor uttered those oh-so-famous words that got the audiences cheering and clapping. “Chellams, I introduce you to my chellam,” the actor stated, much to the delight of his fans. The blushing Pony for her part, only said a shy, accented ‘Vanakkam’.

Prakash Raj roled in to Mahesh -Sreenu Vaitla’s project

Mahesh Babu-Sreenu Vaitla’s project is the pivotal role to be played by one of the top actors. Srihari was considered earlier for this role but the latest reports claim that the same has now gone to Prakash Raj. As you all know Srihari is Sreenu Vaitla’s favourite, but as per the sources, the role in this film is aptly designed one only for Prakash Raj. Thus they decided on Prakash Raj in place of Srihari. Telugu 'Happy Days' as Inidhu Inidhu in Tamil

Veteran Actor now turned producer Prakash Raj who produced many hit films in Tamil, of late has been buying the remake rights of several Telugu films. While he recently bought the Tamil remake rights of Deva Katta’s ‘Prasthanam’, he launched the audio of ‘Inidhu Inidhu’ (a Tamil remake of Sekhar Kammula’s ‘Happy Days) on other hand. The musical scores were rendered by none other than Mickey J Meyer who earned a remarkable name after his contribution to the original version ‘Happy Days’. Incidentally Prakash Raj is introducing cinematographer KV Guhan as director through this Tamil remake ‘Inidhu Inidhi’. In recent times he also remade his Tamil super hit film ‘Abhiyum Naanum’ (Aakasamantha in Telugu) in Kannada as ‘Naanu Nanna Kanasu’ and received good accolades.

Telugu Film Prasthanam In Tamil

Veteran actor Prakash Raj acquired the Tamil remake rights for Telugu film ‘Prasthanam’.

The film ‘Prasthanam’ is directed by Deva Katta and Devakatta tweeted today saying, “It’s official now:

Prakash Raj gaaru to remake Prasthanam in Tamil under his esteemed Duet films banner.

I wish him to score a blockbuster.”

Actor Prakash Raj to marry Pony Varma on Aug 24th

We are all aware of the news that National award winning actor Prakash Raj is seeing the bollywood choreographer Pony Varma and both are dating each other. It is known that their marriage is on cards after he was divorced with his wife Lalitha Kumari in last November.

The movie Electra to be directed by this famous film maker is based on a Greek play and is centered around the character of Alexandra. Nayantara has been selected to play the pivotal role of Electra in the movie. Another news which has been doing the rounds is that Nayantara has also agreed to act in the film without charging a single penny whatsoever. Nayantara is mending her ways and has finally realized that it is high time that she makes a mark of her own in the film industry and get rid of the glam girl tag. The actress has decided to take up roles where there is scope for her to perform and so she has been busy listening to stories one after the other, be it from Malayalam, Tamil or Telugu.
