Her
first film in Tamil was ‘Rendu’ opposite Madhavan. The film's
misfortunes affected Anushka and she returned to Tamil only after three
years for ‘Vettaikaran’ opposite Vijay, but her second film also grossly
let her down and she fell victim to the sentiments of Tamil film
industry.
Then came ‘Arundhathee’ and its phenomenal success, even as a dubbed
film, reversed the fortunes of Anushka. Then came ‘Singam’ and Anushka
consolidated her place in Kollywood. The recently released ‘Panchamuki’
also did not harm her.
Detractors tried to put her down by commenting on her height but her
status in only growing tall. The box office success of ‘Arundhathee’ and
‘Singam’ has made her one of the first choice of many reputed
directors.
'Vaanam' is ready for release and it is sure to benefit her. Now she has
signed a film opposite Vikram for director ‘Madrasapattinam’ Vijay.
Anushka plays a role of a lawyer and has ample scope for performance.
Also buzz is there saying she might also bag the new film of director
Lingusamy 'Vettai' to play opposite Arya.
If Kollywood's red carpet is getting wider for her, the Tollywood is
also not ready to leave her yet. Anushka will do ‘Arundhathee - Part-2’
soon. Another coveted offer knocking at her door is a film with
Chiranjeevi. She hasn't decided on that
